As we sit here and watch all your friends marching proud,
In their gowns of maroon and pure white;
With diploma in hand and a big tasseled cap ...
But our beautiful girl out of sight.
Our sweet, perfect Jessica - gone from this life -
How our hearts are so empty inside.
The aching and longing for our precious girl,
Such deep pain that our love cannot hide.
All the hopes and the dreams that we carried for you,
They are still tucked away in our heart.
How we planned with excitement a future of hope,
And now all of our dreams torn apart.
You were so full of energy - confident - tough;
You were loyal and fearless and brave.
You would listen, and comfort - a true child of God;
These are now all the memories we save.
As your Mom, I would sit and just watch you enjoy
Every moment that each day would hold;
With a sparkle of light from your beautiful eyes,
And a laugh that would never grow old.
You looked up to your brother's with pride and pure love;
You were Dad's little basketball star.
It was your special dream to be coaching one day,
Side by side ... Now that dream is so far.
All the pictures, excitement, the honor's, degrees -
Celebrations held down at the beach.
All the parties, the presents, the college you chose ...
They are dreams now, without of your reach.
This year, our sweet Jess, as the graduates smile
And they toss up their caps high above;
We'll be blowing you kisses with tears in our eyes,
As we send you our hearts filled with love.
Though it hurts you will not be a part of this dream,
Still we know you will not be alone;
Our sweet girl and the angels will celebrate high,
In the Heavens, which now is your home.
You will walk down a path that is scattered with gold,
As the angels escort you away;
And your name will be written in God's holy book
As you graduate this special day.
You'll be dressed in a gown that's the purest of white -
Not a cap, but a halo you'll wear:
All the love that surrounds you will flow with the sea,
As you're touched with a Heavenly prayer.
While your angel friends gather to celebrate joy,
And you stroke your bare feet in the sand,
On the beautiful beach of the Heavenly shore ...
You are held in the palm of God's hand.
For a beautiful angel, Jessica
With all my love from Andrew's Mom
